Think I am getting worse the older I get ... last night on my epic journey home, called in to Tescos for one thing and ended up buying some wine, ok several wines ... well they had an offer on, wonderful tempranillo for only £2.99 ... so me being a skinflint bought a few and its delightful!

Sorry to the wine snobs out there but hell I am finding now that the cheaper wines taste just as good as those a few pounds more ...

Yup spent two summers labouring, that stuff gives you terrible heartburn.:redface: I think it was about 29p a litre?

What do you mean "once upon a time" ?

Our local wine merchant has a lot of fancy bottles in the window, but if you go round the back, you can fill up a plastic bucket for not very much.

Oh my ex is a snob and refused to drink anything priced under 50p ...

A wee tip when dining for you... When choosing a wine, never ever ever select the second cheapest wine on the menu - that's almost always the cheapest by-the-bucket wine. Most people don't want to look like cheapskates, so instead of buying the cheapest, will opt for the second cheapest

Hence the reason i always pick something i've had before and liked even if it is the cheapest / second cheapest!
