Do you guys know any good webhosting that are cheap?

Bit of a subjective question, I believe we are good and *inexpensive* (I never like to say cheap) for what we offer but we are certainly not the cheapest. Value depends on your needs..

Cheap =/= Good

It's cheap because the service offered isn't good. For examples of this see Godaddy, 1and1, vidahost and many others.

Most web hosting is cheap... as in, a few of cups of coffee a month, if you mean cheaper than that, then as others have said, you will get what you paid for.

I mostly intend to use it for PBNs, cheap for me ,means <$50 per year

Nowadays, web hosting is around $12 per year. You can get great deals by browsing specialized forum like WHT.

You can host it yourself if you have an old spare PC which you no longer use, and it will only cost you the domain registration and your monthly internet bill.

That's a silly idea.

1. Most domestic internet service providers won't allow this, check their T&Cs before doing or you could land yourself without internet connection (or more likely, some threatening letters).

2. Old PCs are not power efficient. The cost of running it 24/7 would probably out weigh the cost of just buying some web hosting.

3. Internet connection speed will be rubbish compared to being hosted in a proper data centre. When someone accessed your website they will be essentially downloading it from your 'server', this means they are taking it from you (upstream) and will only use your maximum upload speed, which in the UK is rubbish across the board.. could be as low as 2MB/sec... not so bad for a small website with no traffic, but you can forget about hosting large files or handling any traffic spikes...

4. Excessive usage of bandwidth could see you being throttled at peak times. You could possibly impact your internet speed used for day to day browsing/downloading.

I use LCN.COM who are very competitively priced (including domain names) and UK based with real people support on the end of the phone. Look up their reviews on the search engines. They get five stars from everyone. For website build use Microsoft Expression Web 4 which is now free. I used thesitewizard for instructions on using EW4.

Finding hosting in that range for a standard site is not going to be hard. There are dozens of providers online.

Are they good? They are alright. I personally wouldn't use them, but I have a high volume ecommerce site that is business critical. But they are alright.

And they are cheap. So you cannot reasonably expect more than alright.

You will end up on shared servers across a range of different hosts and Google will soon spot the pattern making your PBN null and void.

Then you can buy hundreds of web hosting plans... It also depends how many websites do you plan to place there as if you think for a big number, then you should take bigger package and then the situation will change a lot.

I would just suggest while you search for cheap web hosting, avoid unlimited web hosting provider they are very sure overselling server resources for selling unlimited stuff.

I've never had any issues with Krystal Hosting. I switched to them from Fasthosts three years ago and never looked back.

The price is very reasonable, and more importantly I've had almost no unscheduled downtime, email outages or other Fasthosts-esque catastrophes.

Cheap hosting & Good hosting are contradictory of each other.

The cheapest web hosting packages available are generally over-sold shared hosting platform that provides long load times which are detrimental to user experience.

'Cheap hosting' may be viable for a small cooking or recipe blog as an example, but for any sort of business-dependant website, whether e-commerce or not, I would suggest going to a more reliable hosting provider.
