Can NHS Employees claim expenses?

Hi all,

Is there anyway NHS employees can claim expenses e.g Professional Body Fees, Travel expenses to and from work, Professional courses etc against their salaries?

Please note i am only concerned about NHS Employees and not NHS professionals carrying out Locum work.

Hi im sure you acn claim mileage from any employer if your journey is further than your normal place of work eg If your workplace is 5 miles from home and you were asked to do a training course 10 miles away you can claim mileage for the remaining 5 miles. Most employers would pay this directly tho you can claim from HMRC. Not sure about proffesional body fees

in this case the employee has paid Professional body fees and wants to claim these expenses against his salary, possible? The employee has not been reimbursed for anything from anybody. All expenses are out of pocket.

yes they can claim professional subs and course fees etc , sorry there is NOT missing in my previous post, it should read like

NHS employees can claim expenses e.g Professional Body Fees like GMC, MDU etc and Professional courses ONLY if costs are NOT reimbursed to them

claim from whom? Your employer? Why not ask them?
