Call Answering Service

I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for a call answering service who can handle low volumes of calls. I am generally in the office and answer the phone myself, but I need someone to pickup the slack when I'm busy or out.

I currently use Answer.co.uk as I liked their pricing. However the service has started to slide recently. Is there anyone with a similar per call structure, no setup or monthly fees?

Thanks

Kris

Hi read your post. I know of a lady called Sally. She does exactly what you are looking for. I spoke to her yesterday I am going to use her. I felt confidence and passion in her voice about what she does. PM me and I'll give you details

Hi there, why not try our Pay As You Go call answering service?

£35 set up fee then 50p a call, with a minimum £10 monthly spend.

We do fixed price packages too, starting at £25 a month.

Although you want no set up fees, in the longer run, they can work out dearer than paying double for the actual call costs. With ours, you get up to 20 calls a month for the minimum £10 spend.

More details on our website at http://www.fonealone.co.uk

I did try to speak to them, but they apparently cannot speak to me on the phone after I become a customer, it all has to be done via email which has annoyed me as well.

Though I have now found another service that seems to offer exactly what I need, thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

How weird.....that would immediately turn me off using them. If I have a complaint I like to where possible pick up the phone.

That would be like me a freelance telemarketer saying I would only converse via email. Bonkers.

CallsMatter

Hi

I am setting up a call answering service which is going live on 4th April this year. We do not charge any extras for out of hours or bank holiday calls.

We have no set up fee and there is no contract unlike our competitors. Our prices are really competitive and we offer our customer a first class service - we can email, text or pass urgent calls to you over the phone.

If you are interested please call me on 01202 59 59 92 or PM me.

Thank you

I would like to introduce Time Assistant. We can provide a telephone answering service from only £1 per call and minimum charge of £5 a month.

Your calls will be answered by a small team of 3 staff, who will get to know your business and your customers.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

I know this may be a bit late but you should try Callready.co.uk

They are based in Cheshire and I have used them for the past few months and they are brilliant. I have used AlldayPA, MoneyPenny and Jam before and the quality wasn't bad but not brilliant but these tick all the right boxes for me.

They even give you a free 0800 number too :)

Just been reviewing this thread and whilst we couldn't resolve the issue of the original poster - have looked back at the client customer service messages and did not see any request for a phone call - admittedly we provided a not so useful answer to the query but there was another customer service message which unfortunately remains unread requesting further information so we could investigate further this issue.

Always annoying for someone to leave but want to ensure for anyone coming across this thread - we didn't just ignore the client at the time.

There seems to be alot of self promotion of Telephone Answering Service Pay As You Go on here. Think it might be against the rules! :D

Best thing is to give advice about pay as you go telephone answering services without outright promoting you are an answering service. :)

You can say something like "these are the benefits of using a Pay As You Go Telephone Answering Service ..."

Then they can see from your signature that offer a pay as you go answering service and they can decide if they want to find out more :)

Good call Jet

The things to look at when picking a good Telephone Answering Service are as follows:

1. How quick do they answer the phone, when you call them and do you speak to a 'salesperson' straight away?
2. For a PAYG service is there a minimum spend and what is it. Some providers say that they provide the service at x pence per call but you have to buy credits in advance?
3. Are there any management fees or 'activation' fees?
4. Do they provide an account manager that you can actually speak to as apposed to email/tweet?
5. What is the tie in period for the service?
6. Where are they based?
7. If they say they are 24/7 does that mean all agents are based in the same building or 'elsewhere' or do they even outsource out of hours calls to another company.
8. If you are buying an all inclusive deal, what happens if you go over the calls for that month, what is the cost per call then?
9. Can you go and visit them when you want?
10. Can you get verbal testimonials from their clients.

I would check them out on Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn and take a look at the website. Also use a credit referencing tool to check the business out.

I have spoken many competitors and some are great and some very poor. If you want to discuss this industry more then feel free to message me.

I do think it is a bit much to be labelled "unprofessional" by someone who knows nothing about me or my business for something which would be a genuine oversight if it turns out that I am in the wrong. As a professional I will seek to rectify the situation as soon as I can once I have spoken to the appropriate parties.
