Hi,

Iam trying to find a solution that will sync my calendar across all my devices.

Yes I could use a gmail account but when sending meeting requests I want it to come from my business domain.

I don’t really want to have to subscribe to a MS Exchange email account. But this is the sort of functionality Iam looking for.

How I could see this working is I hold a calendar file on my server / hosting and then point everything to it from there. I have the following devices I would like to point ti the calendar and have them all syncing at the same time.

Desktop 1
Thunderbird / Lightning

Desktop 2
Outlook 2010

Phone
Android Device

Tablet
Android Device

I receive a lot of meeting requests via people that use MS exchange so when replying with an acceptance or decline I need it to work just like MS exchange.

Has anyone found a good solution or any ideas I can try out.

Thanks

If you have a server available, you could consider OwnCloud. That's what we use for various things including file sharing and calendar. There is a plugin from SoGo that you could use to view calendar in Thunderbird, and Davdroid can be used for the clendar on an Android device.

A bit of work to set it all up, but the only ongoing costs are maintenance. And you retain complete control and pricvacy of your own data.

Not sure why you aren't jumping on gmail calendar. Your one reason not to use it (domain name email) is a non-issue as per James' post above. I use it to sync my calendars (Firefox/Lightning & Android phone) and also share some of my/her calendars with my GF who has a PC and iPad. It works a treat and its free. never use gmail itself or the google calendar just my laptop and phone
