Looking to buy a Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric for the business.

It would be used by multiple staff members to pick up and drop off people service users for a care centre.

Anybody recommend an insurer that would cover multiple staff using a single vehicle for this purpose?

    Hi @R Alexander ,

    Thanks for your direct message.

For the benefit of other members:

    1. Company Vehicle Insurance is expensive for your first vehicle - mainly due to no claims history and no claims discount (I would be surprised if you get anything under £3k!)
    2. Many insurers will only offer cover for "named drivers" therefore be prepared to pay more for the luxury of "any driver" cover
    3. For single vehicles - best prices are usually found online via comparison websites or with Insurers directly such as Direct Line
    4. Things will get easier & cheaper as the years go by (as long as you stay claim free!)

    Good luck!

The likelyhood of ‘any driver’ damaging the car is far higher on a company vehicle. The insurer has no idea who will be driving, their experience or age. This makes the chances of a claim far higher and as a result not something they will be interested in insuring.

Or as Frank suggested, you will be paying an exorbitant premium. I seem to recall someone here a while back asking a similar question and getting a quote over £10k. Can’t remember the details but the fee was more than the value of the vehicle.
