It's hard to say what will work best for your business as different things work for different businesses.

Generally If you offer something free in order to get customers to interact then offer something from your sales ladder at discount for a limited time you should be able to get customers using direct mail and even PPC (pay per click advertising).

But again it all depends on what you are offering.

PPC
Email marketing
Social networking
Direct marketing

The top marketing right now is digital marketing, which is a comprehensive approach to marketing online. This can be broken down into many different areas, all of which are important. If you're a small company then it may not be possible to take all of the necessary steps, so you need to determine which approach will best serve you.

This fully depends on where your target audience is and how they behave. If your target audience is most active on Instagram, then a funnel campaign on social media will be the most effective option with relatively little cost and high rewards.

However, if you can set your website up in a very structured way to support SEO, then that will only bolster your businesses presence even further without ever doing any active marketing.

The idea is to make your profile as visible as possible, which is determined by where your potential buyers are going to see it.

For most companies, this will include:

Adwords
SEO
Social Media Marketing
Email Marketing
Backlinks
PPC

I'd like to say what is the best/most popular channels, but as everybody said above: it depends on your target audience.
You couldn't reach out teenagers using TV ads, you see?

IMHO the best ones are:
Social Media for acquisition/retention
Emails for retention
GDN for brand awareness
KeyWord Search for the bottom of the funnels

You shouldn't focus on the one channel, mix it up for different purposes.

Hope it helps.

Can someone tell me what is the top ten business marketing out now? And if mail marketing effective?

In addition for their marketing mediums, I strongly suggest content marketing in which visual content campaign is one of the most interesting trend today in the marketing field. Again, your business will need specific marketing method accordingly.

I couldn't agree more with you @StevePoster ! We are running our own company blog and find that this helps not only with our overall marketing efforts (attracts new customers and helps with search engine rankings as the content is fresh) but it also helps with the fact that it helps to retain existing customers. We send a weekly newsletter out to our existing customer which contains a link to the blog posts. From this comes a number of new enquiries that are essentially giving us business. This effort is free (excluding employees wages) so this should be one marketing medium that shouldn't be underestimated

After 40 years, 120+ businesses from £50k to £25m pa turnover, £100 to £250k per month spend on marketing, I can tell you with confidence that without a track record to compare with, the best way forward is a structured process with A/B Testing... after adding some research which these days is so much easier with t'internet.

Not all types of marketing campaign will be applicable for your company's services or products. It will depend on who your customers are. For this you need to understand who the decision makers are when it comes to provisioning your services or buying your products.

So, don't bother taking anybody's advice unless they have information in your sector.

It would be great if we could make one marketing strategy for every type of business. However, sadly this is not possible as each business is different. What works for us does not mean will work for someones selling quality beds.

Depends on your business, what you're doing marketing wise and how you are marketing!

I offer digital marketing services and for my business SEO / web searches, email marketing, social media organic and networking are what works best for me. Not forgetting word of mouth!

    Hope that helps?

Yes email marketing is still very much effective it offers a great return on investment. but for that your email template should be good and effective. Other marketing tools if you can say are
    SEO
    Google Adwords
    SMS marketing
    Content marketing and paper advertisement.

    Hey Helen,
As many people have said already there is not really a general template but you have to got back to
    - Mission / Vision
    - Objectives
    - Strategies
    - Tactics

Working with a good agency/partner or reading plenty is a good start..
(Personally) I think (and hope) you will see less strategies that start in a individual channel (or worse "digital") and hopefully looks in to the overall ambition and use the right cross channels strategies and tactics to meet your objectives. best of luck.

It all really depends on the nature of your business and who you are targeting.

I definitely agree that digital marketing is really effective, especially as we now live in an online society.

    I'd suggest....
    • Create original content that your target market will want to read and share
    • SEO - a really useful website for keyword research is Ubersuggest
    • Social media marketing, on social media you'll be able to drive traffic to your content
    • Create videos about your product/service
    • Giveaways or order incentives, promotional products are great to use for this because they display your branding
    • Email marketing, great when you get it right, but please ensure that all your data is GDPR compliant.
    Hope this helps? :)

I'm sorry, there's no such this as "The Top Ten Marketing Methods" that you can use for your business. There is only "What Marketing can I do that will work for my particular business?"

Once you ask that question, you can start taking the first step towards building a successful business with digital marketing.

The first step is knowing who you're marketing to and then finding out where they "hang out" on the internet. Without a clear understanding of who your target customer is, you'll only throw your money in a fire and burn it without a single return on your investment.

Once you've done the right research, THEN you can figure out where you can market and what you're going to say!

    Hope this helps!

Make sure you know exactly who your target is and cater to them. Provide useful, relevant content through a blog, for example, and keep them updated and engaged - newsletters, social media, specific groups where you van find your potential leads.
SEO and paid ads can also be an option.

Then again, your overall strategy will always depend on what your business is and how well you are answering your customer's needs.

    Good luck!

I don't know about the top 10 but finding bloggers that have A huge following that could blog about your business the url is (I am not allowed to even tell you the url till I have 30pts what a nuisance!) you could check this out I suspect there are many other such lists, it does look very good esp if your product is health or beauty, these bloggers tend to have huge following.....maybe you could send them some product for a review or something

Y es this is something i need to do, for the long term, it's good when customers know where and how to find you ie having your own blog or website , I have always shed away from this because there are trillions competing websites and it's hard to stand out, but if doing any form of Google ppc it's obviously useful for that too
