Browser Problem

I have been getting more and more problems opening parts of certain webpages with IE 11 which is my default browser and every time I want to look at the Vodafone website I have to use Firefox as it just won't work properly in IE

Last week I opened an account with Nesspresso and much to my annoyance this is one of the sites that won't work. https://www.nespresso.com/uk/en/pages/grands-crus-coffee-range is completely unresponsive. The icons for "size" and "intensity" do absolutely nothing when I click on them and none of the ordering icons do anything either. Unlike Vodafone this site also won't work properly in Firefox although oddly enough it will work in Opera.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alan-pardew-crystal-palace-must-5169033 has two polls neither of which will show for me in IE or Firefox but will in Opera.

My PC runs Windows 7 Home but I don't have these problems at all on my laptop which runs the same operating system and almost the same programs too and I am completely flummoxed.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Is FF upto the, latest version? Do you have any addons for them (security suites tend to add them)?

Called manage addons in IE and extensions in Firefox

Add Ons in IE 11 are Abine's Do Not Track Me, Shockwave and Spybot search and Destroy with a few others disabled.

Firefox only has has Flash enabled with a number of others marked as "Ask to Activate"

No Firefox on the laptop and whilst it does have "Do Not Track Me" it doesn't have Spybot or Shockwave.

I have now disabled these two add ons so that desktop and laptop are the same and it still doesn't work

My desktop runs Microsoft Security essentials and Spybot Search and Destroy, neither of which are on my laptop.

I've also noticed that Surfing Protection by iobit has sneaked onto my PC unnoticed. I've just uninstalled it and it hasn't cured the problem

The problem seemed to be getting worse with more and more websites not displaying things properly so I reset Internet Explorer back to it's factory state and now all of the problem sites work correctly again.

This has caused an annoying problem though as when I use Google to search for "factoring" it shows my site in third place whereas for everyone else it will be on page 3 or 4

I have changed my location to London on the Google search and also ticked the box in internet options to "never allow websites to request your physical location" but neither has worked.

There is obviously another way around this as prior to resetting IE yesterday it showed my site in the correct position.

Does anyone have any more suggestions?

See if the site is added to the list, if it is and it's not displaying properly, remove it from the list.

If it isn't added to the list, and it's not displaying properly, add it to the list, and see if that makes a difference.

There were no sites added to the list at all and adding Google.co.uk made no difference.

Currently the only way that I can see accurate search rankings is either by using private browsing on IE or by going through an anonymous proxy
