Boris's hair

I watch Prime Minister's questions on most Wednesdays and his hair seems to be getting wilder and wilder and today it looked like he was housing a mouse's nest on top of his head.

No-one appears on TV without the makeup people sorting you out first so I assume that Boris is happy with his scruffy unkempt look.

I am not an anti Tory moaner as I have voted Conservative all my life and would have voted for Boris as party leader if I was a paying member of the party but I don't think that the image that he portrays shows the United Kingdom in a very good light. My sister has lived in Australia for the last 40 years and when she was last over she asked me why we had a tramp running the country?

I assume that there must be a good reason why he is impersonating the comedian Milton Jones but I just can't fathom out what it is.

It's a choice he's made. It's not scruffy as such, it's styled that way. For some reason he thinks bumbling upper class twit is a look to go for.

Lots of people do it. We were watching Gardeners world only the other day and discussed how Monty Don always looks a mess. If you look carefully, he's been styled to look that way. His clothes are always a size too big, and he never quite finishes an outfit. Even in a suit he looks terrible. It's the way he's decided to look. All of his suits have that 'linen' look, even when not linen suits; maybe he's an Iron- phobic.

Sorry Ian but think he is a scruffy urchin who has failed to deliver any real leadership and has let both his constituents down and the country.

I would accept his hair if he speeches, responses and leadership were up to what we expect of a Prime Minister.

Why be sorry? It was fairly obviously a non political thread so well done for waiting until 8 others had responded on the actual subject before diverting it to your political views on the man

I think the look is supposed to be 'on the move'.

I think that he has just copied this man

But Milton is a comedy act and...oh...

The whole thing seems to work for Boris. He's always gone with the unkempt look, the clothes that don't fit and the 'blither'.

Not sure I buy it to be honest. He became PM despite all of the above, because he connects to people in a comedic way. They think he's funny to look at. He throws in some Latin and adds some 'well...now...look...see...well...now....' <<< complete nonsense but buys him time in any interview situation and gets him out of things when he doesn't know the answer.

I think you lot are jealous because he has hair and most of you don't!

But playing the bumbling idiot does seem to work for him, doesn't it? He got himself elected mayor of London, got elected leader of the Conservative Party, became PM.

That's despite his obvious shortcomings. Let's face it, he's not great at detail, he's not very organised, he's does have a habit of putting his foot in his mouth and giving the media opportunities to make fun of him (whether it's rugby tackling a kid or getting stuck on a cable car).

So why has he achieved the successes that he's achieved?

The Left will tell you he got where he is by being a lying, cheating git. But let's put aside that seething animosity for a minute and think about this.

How did he pull of what he did pull off? it's partly because of this image! When you have a posh name, a posh accent, an Eton background, what do you do to come across as a man of the people? He's gone for the dishevelled, confused, just-a-normal-bloke-trying-to-do-my-best.

Has he succeeded? I don't know. He's running the country. What are you running today?

Maybe those of you with hair should try messing your hair up a bit.

If it works to get you into Number 10, it should work at your next client presentation.
