I have spent some time getting my head around a simple bookkeeping program called SimplyBooks and it is pretty much what I need- I think. However I have an issue with my three largest suppliers. One supplier that provides me with my main goods send both VAT and non VAT goods. In my hand written cashbook I just eneter the invoice amounts in and it is done but with the program I need to enter the bank payment. the bank payment works on a deferred payment scheme and so the amounts taken are different to the invoices and thus the VAT percentage taken each time is not made known. I therefore cannot create an account in my program for this supplier as I cannot apportion a balance to VAT when I compare invoices to payments.
Am I being daft here? Any help will be much appreciated.
