bono vacantia

Hi I ran a Limited company for a few years. I went travelling last year and while I was away the company got closed down, because I didn't file annual return or accounts, not sure which. The bank account is now frozen and I can't access the almost £5k that I was using to fund my travelling (taking dividends). I understand its a BONO VACANCIA issue, and that it's probably possible to recover the money, with a court process. Where do I start?

Thanks Bill, this is a good start, and it looks encouraging. BTW amended title to fix spelling mistake in "vacantia" (I was using "vacancia").
