    Hi Guys
    Dunno if you remember the cruise.co.uk website sold for 500k ??
    Remember the discussions on the subject well i went and brought the
    www.boat-cruises.co.uk as an investment .

    So i have the name only, a few of you could see the logic of the idea , so as i had the name cost ma a tenner , why let it sit in limbo... ..

    So as i have like zillions of mb spare server space and i was bored the other day..
    I whizzed a simple website up on a kind of fun thing idea ..only used our own basic quick rv builder (the quid a week jobby) as its so quick and SEO friendly..

    So when its number 1 in google i will flog it for 300k :)

    In the years that it will take if it does ? its a damn funny website , have a read through it and i reckon you will agree,

    Its one of the funniest Boat cruising websites ever built :D

    spread the word link to it and when i sell, i share the 300k out ;)

    I will let it stand and tinker ..just add and play as i get time, it was a rush thing, wanted it up and soaking so to speak.

    I noted that the windows from your ships overlooked the Med.

    Maybe a better market if the windows overlooked the Caribbean - especially if the boats were still in the Med, then we wouldn't have so far to fly.

    Does the death repayment guarantee still apply if the body is not traced (e.g. overboard + sharks)?

    Great site - will book next year's holiday.

    will this work? i mean..surely when people start visiting it via the search results they'll look at it then go off the page? so even if you're getting hits, they're only staying on for 2 seconds then leaving.

    also why would anyone buy a domain that has been used to little effect before and has already peeved off thousands of visitors for not showing the information they're searching for e.g. boat cruises?

    not a dig..i'm actually interested in your experiment!:D

    Its a 10 tier thingy.

    1, Higher the ranking the more its worth . target is 300k :D
    2. It was damn funny and good fun doing it.
    3. the website was done on our diy self build website builder demonstrating how quick and easy it works. so advertising it. look at the bottom links on the site.
    4. demonstrates SEO performance.ability.
    5. Its kept me out of trouble for a while.
    6. Google ads are on there so could make 25p a day.
    7. links are on there so its a free link farm.
    8. If ever i want to run a boat cruise operation its ready to go.
    9. Its given a hell of a lot of people a laugh.
    10. Why not ? i have the webspace i have the time ..

    does that answer the question ? :)

    answers the question for sure.

    its something i wanted to trial, not with boat-cruise but with another domain, seo practice and try to get it to the top.

    most of the good names seem to have gone now though :eek: and most annoyingly, they're just holding pages

    yep well i think thats a waste just holding them .. show there ability and ups the price..

    put a link from your website to it and when its sold you get a share ;)

    I may do a few others in the winter when its cold and rainning .. i get bored easy and its a good way of trying new tricks i wouldnt push on customers serious sites .
    if that makes sense ?

    Like the volume of hammering the terms top and bottom , etc etc..

    An accountant website may well be unhappy with that ammount so its useful for testing . i have a few semi serious under test all the time .
    its how i improve the SEO side but schhhhhh ;)

    You should start emailing a few of the main cruise businesses to ask if they would like to join the bidding. Tell them 3 other cruise businesses are bidding for it at the moment and the current highest is at 5k and see what responses you get. I did that the other week with a domain and sold it for £500. Never made me rich but better than it sitting doing nothing.

    I know you are just having a bit of fun and experimentation with this but I don't see how you could ever sell the domain for good money. The ranking relies primarily on the content and the content will be of no interest to a serious cruise operator.

    er one can easily change the content and although the present content is a bit of a giggle it is still relevant to ranking for the cruise industry.

    As I can assure you google has zero sense of humor so could not tell the difference.:).
