Hi everyone,
So im getting on the content bandwaggon and have started up a wordpress blog. Im posting the articles from the blog onto my social ( LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, G+ ) But Im having a little bit of an afterthought.

Would it be better to add an extra tab on the menu screen of my site with a follow link to the wordpress blog, or would it be better to publish just direct to the site: like an "insite" blog.

Last question - and sorry to do a double up, but would you recommend using wordpress or dreamweaver - the site is .php

Welcome any feedback / questions :)

If you have separate blog then you do you plans to integrate it into your website? Don't think that can be done without changing the URL. That would affect your traffic.

If your blog is getting good traffic then you should probably just add a button to your site instead of putting the whole blog there.

im thinking about downloading wordpress and installing the file into the site.
Do this. do it today.

Integrate fully with the main site so that visitors can't see the joins.

A really great blog post can rank #1 with with little effort. This will get you the traffic which you then turn into leads.

Why do you want to post to social sites? Wouldn't you rather the people came to your site instead fo FB/twitter?

I am blogging and get nice traffic even though I am quite new to the whole blogging way or marketing.

I tried setting up Wordpress and all but it was too hard for me LOL but now found a already made platform to market on and they rank high on Google.

I do twitter as well as FB and other sites... once you have your blog you can rewrite it to other file sites :D so you only do main work once and then just modify.

I am also a novice in SEO so need Wordpress etc to do the main but for me :D have learned a bit though.

I dont mean to hijack the OPs topic, but is there anywhere online that shows you how to do this? I've just set up a wordpress blog and I would like to integrate it with my site in such a way that people think its all partt of my main site.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

  1. Download Wordpress
  2. Create a folder on your webspace (eg blog)
  3. Unzip Wordpress
  4. Fire up (transfer files to the above folder in your webspace) Wordpress via FTP(free)
  5. Ensure you have a database ready (check with your host for settings)
  6. Run the installer
  7. Add a link to your website main nav (to /blog)
  8. Build winning content

Also worth checking if your host has a one-click installer, ideal for the novice (although I DO NOT like them :p)

That is it in a nutshell and should help you get running.

Gonna add a blog??? ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS add a blog to your site and not to blogger etc...why give them the benefit.

To add to the excelent advice above.

Take a look here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Or just ask someone here to do it for you. Ask nicely and you will get it done for free.

Once installed, change the wordpress theme to make it look like the main site. Duplicate navigation links so that once on the blog part they can get back to the main site.

Then start writing.
