Blackberry

Yup. I started using a Blackberry Pearl (don't know what the models are called there) about six months ago. I am so dependent on it now that I'd be lost without it. I have configured four different mailboxes to send emails to my phone. It's really really useful. Plus, someone showed me how to 'PIN' messages to others. This is like SMS but it's free no matter where in the world you are.

I know of some people who have both a regular handset and a Blackberry, using the latter for email only. In my case, I use my Blackberry for voice calls and for email.

As for price, I simply bought the package to receive unlimited emails, and it's pretty cheap. See if a local operator has the same package.

I have had a Blackberry Pearl for about 9 months and like the feeling of always knowing what is going on when I am out and about, also means I am never late to respond to important emails!

The Blackberry Pearl is also a nice size - unlike the previous Blackberry models.

I have had my present Blackberry (8700v) for the last 6 months, before that I had a windows mobile 5 device ( iMate KJam ) for a year and before that Sony Ericsson P910i. All of which i have used to pickup and send emails whilst out and about.

Presently with vodafone and their blackberry unlimited tariff (within fair usage policy) it certainly has worked out a lot cheaper than in past where I have paid per MB.

Couldn't live with out it now.

Blackberry are good but there is no real difference against a windows mobile. The blackberry only becomes amazingly mind blowing when you have it installed in a full BES environment. Go for the 8800 you will not go wrong but give it 3 or 4 months and they will be releasing the WIFI version with a sip client.
