Asking this question is sort of like asking ‘how long is a piece of string’. The answer is whichever adverting works best for you for your budget.

If you are on a tight budget SEO is the best and cheapest way, however it takes a long time to achieve good enough results to make a good profit. PPC adverting is another option but if you have a low conversion rate you will not see a return. There are hundreds of other methods but in a long term situation SEO rules.

Which promotion method is the best to promote a new website? My website sell the computer hardwares online. Please give me a best suggestion. Thanks. :)
Ebay. :)

The market is saturated and you have very little chance of doing well selling computer hardware, it's very competitive. Even eBay might cripple you with it's fees :| I don't even know if I could recommend SEO as you'd need a cracking site to beat the competition.... and that costs. Maybe optimise your site for VERY, VERY obscure, longtail searches.

if you are talking about SEO, then I think there is no single 'best method' in seo field to promote a site. seo includes different methods and it depends on the situation and competition whether apply just one strategy or like to go with more than one or two.

SEO is just one of many marketing tools you can use to bring your site to the attention of your potential visitors. Making your site SE friendly won't actually acheive much as the marketplace is already saturated so unless you are offering something different or have loads of money to spend, the chances of getting noticed are very very slim.

The best way would be a TV campaign, billboard advertisements, sponsorship, magazine adverts, banner ads on websites, PPC...
