I've set up a delivery company operating in the UK working business to business, I tried email marketings and purchased 500 ecomerce emails and didn't get any responses, my rates are cheaper than any of the big companies even royal mail and I offer the same services, Next day, 1-2 days, specific day and even weekend delivery. How many emails should i purchase in order for it to be effective? Or is their a better way to market to other businesses?

get your walking shoes on and pay the companies you want to deal with a visit.

take with you your marketing leaflets - booklets and present them to your potential clients.

start small - i.e. local businesses first - let the business grow before it falls.

You are entering possibly the hardest and most competitive sector in any business, and although price is a consideration it comes at the end of a long line of requirements from the companies involved.

I used to work for TNT european division, specialising in JIT for the car makers, and that could involve anything from considering using jets, new drivers, extra vehicles etc for a tailored solution. Although parcels is seen as much easier each client will have individual needs, which is why the cheapest delivery service doesn't always get the business.

Collection and delivery times, parcel sizes, volume factors, insurance, customer service etc are just as important as price to many people.

So what do you do that sets you apart? You seem to be marketing just on price, but is that what your potential clients want? As for being cheaper, any of the big boys can undercut you long enough to drive you out of business anytime they wish, food for thought.

And because you are an unknown there is no trust that you can actually deliver. So while to maybe cheaper, companies will stick with what they know rather than jump ship to a new provider.

    I am frightfully astounded !
I have have been doing this all my life and nobody has been able to offer a cheaper rate than the parcels companies and royal mail .
With claims like that the customer should be making enquires all day long !
I really dont get it I dont see how you can do it . I can only see it making a loss and the more customers you get the bigger the loss .
