I have 2 websites one is a flight comparison website called time4takeoff which has been up and running for the past 7 months.

The other website is a real estate website which is a property advertising website for renting, buying and selling properties. This only deals with one county in the UK, the website is called more property space.

Having hired someone to do SEO on both websites time4takeoff for 7 months which is highly ranked on google and more property space for 2 months I haven't had any luck in selling any flights, neither have I had any luck in people listing their properties even though its free of charge.

So i am now looking at advertising! What is the best way to advertise these type of websites ? Yellow pages, Social Media, Local newspaper, Google Adwords there are so many more i know but not having much of a budget i don't know which one will give me a better chance of getting a return first time round.

If they aren't buying now, why do you think things are going to change if you start advertising? All it is going to mean is you end up spending more money for nil return

In any case, don't know what you are ranked for because I can't find you anywhere. Are you sure you aren't seing personalised results?

Ring or walk into local Estate Agents and ask if you can list their properties on your site. I suspect advertising is going to be a waste of money.

As far as I can tell your travel site is not ranked highly for any of your keywords. As has been mentioned above, I suspect you are seeing personalised results.

I'd also suggest that your lack of awareness regarding your sites ranking indicates that your seo service provider is ineffective and/or apathetic.

Did your seo service provider brief you on the ferocity of keyword competition in your chosen industry? Have you logged into your google analytics account? For example, do you know how many visits your site receives each day? Do you know how long they peruse your site for on average? Your top referral sources? The most visited pages? Do you know the bounce rate? And so on

Maybe you do know the answers to these quetions but your query suggests you do not.

I suggest you review the items mentioned above before you go potentially throwing good money after bad on more advertising. In particular you should have a frank conversation with your seo service provider, it might be the case that no one is buying flight tickets because no one is actually finding/visiting your site.

If you consider you want to look at what other seo providers can offer then feel free to send a PM.

Depending on your budget I would suggest a PPC (pay-per-click) campaign). This would help people searching for your keywords see your advertisements at the top and side of a Google search page.

I'd advise PPC as well as I've found it really helpful in the past- if you're looking into it Keel Over is a company that has a money saving calculator tool. I can't post the link because I haven't made fifteen posts yet apparently but if you click through to their PPC Management page it lets you know how much you can save on PPC from your monthly spend figure.

Hi,

PPC would probably be the right direction to go to get instant results, if competition is high (suspect it will be in both markets) it may cost a fair bit. SEO can be done in the background and once the rankings are high enough you can phase out the PPC.

Just as a side note, to test PPC campaigns Bing is considerably cheaper than Google (not so much traffic) and could get you a few enquiries for a lot less money.
