I am looking to setup an online store and dont mind paying for the platform, but I need it to be user and seo friendly, preferably php for easy customization. What would you suggest, I have had a look at using wordpress because of its seo features and magneto for its shop features..

Easy to use for whom?

Do you want is to be usable for your potential customer or do you mean easy for you to administer or do you mean easy to set up?

Do you know what type of online store you want, your potential customers and how you are going to do your marketing?

Are you hoping to develop the interface yourself or pay someone to do it for you?

Basically, your choice of platform depends on your skills and abilities, the needs of you customers and the type of products you are offering.

If you are looking for a UK based hosted solution then I agree with Mike you should seriously consider looking at Bluepark.

Great price, excellent support, friendly forum, search engine friendly and packed full of features.

If you are not bothered about it being UK based other hosted solutions to consider would be Volusion and BigCommerce.

You can sign up for a free trial with all of the above.

I have signed up with Multimarket. Really easy to use. Just google it and it will come up at the top.

Just wondering if this post is spam because can't understand why anyone would signup to this service when there is:-

1) No company details
2) No email address
3) No telephone number
4) Very little information on the features
5) No Portfolio
6) Same testimonial appears 3 times on sign-up page
7) No trial
8) The lowest start-up cost in the UK? Not true!

In actual fact I think threads like these are of very limited value. They always generate replies from people who either sell the service or who are users of the service and hence very familiar and comfortable with it. That does not necessarily mean that anyone else would be comfortable with it.

They seldom produce genuine comparisons or reviews that include reasons why any particular package ticks the boxes. You would probably be better looking at comparison websites.

My 2p. ;)

(Good info on this on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_shopping_cart_software)
