Best POS system in 2019 with integrated website

I'm getting really, really fed up with my current ePOS supplier who are utterly shameless.

We're not a restaurant or cafe, nor are we a wholesaler or a greengrocer.

It's a regular shop selling (mostly) regular barcoded items.

I'm looking into switching over. Things we need:-
  • A system which can cope with 20,000 SKUs .
  • Integrated stock levels on our website.
  • A system by which customers can put things on account and we can send monthly statements and invoices.
  • For it not to be slow when searching for items. For all its many failings our current system is super quick at filtering items.
  • For the support to be responsive and actually interested in squashing bugs, NOT just trying to pretend the bugs are features(!!!)
Any tips?!?!

We DON'T need Amazon/eBay integrations.

Thank you!!

A lot depends on which way you want to integrate.

I have seen several epos plugins for WP/Woocommerce sites.

Maybe if you mentioned what your current epos and site systems are, you might get more specific/detailed comments.

Hi there

We are an independent retailer and we have been using Easify (I have no affiliations to them other than as a user of 4+ years) as our shop based epos system. We have had very few issues with it. Their support is very good when you need it.

You can also integrate e-commerce into it with add on packages but (for us, anyway) it starts to become as expensive as most of the other bigger brands of multi-channel e-commerce software.

Obviously I don't know the size of your business but I think that no matter where you are on the scale, implementing a multi-channel epos system isn't cheap, even if all you want to do is link your web site to your shop till.

I looked at the WP/Woocommerce option and even created an e-commerce web site for our business. We have about 6000 active SKU's. I managed to get about 200 on it. The sheer time and effort involved in creating product pages (uploading csv's, editing product images to the right size, creating a product description, creating tags, SEO etc) is very time consuming.

I think you need to ask if you really need the online business. How much competition will you have and will the income generated online be enough to cover all the expense in time, effort and money? If so then you have to be prepared to invest in a system that is reliable and efficient and, generally, expensive.

I decided that ecommerce wasn't for us and I now use the time (that I would've spent creating product pages) on social media, creating Google posts and blog posts on our web site to encourage people to visit our shop and it seems to be working.

Again, this is just my humble opinion.

You may think I am biased, but making data entry faster is one of the advantages of a custom solution, especially if you have some integration with existing systems.

Does Woocommerce not resize images? Quaint.
