Best email subject

Hi,

Im just preparing an email to send out to some possible future clients. I am sending out some postcards in the mail (when they arrive)- hopefully this weekend and my email will be a follow up to that. Basically i'm hoping that if people see my business infront of them more than once they may atleast give it a second glance!:|

I dont want the email to sound like spam or one of those dodgy virus emails.

Any ideas on the best subject line to put? Should I copy the phrase on the front of the postcard? 'Nox Nox.... who's there?'

Thanks in advance,

Crista

This is really smart, indeed! But even more than a subject line, I like your approach to direct marketing. It is a great idea to use mail and follow up by email campaign!

Good luck with reaching your audience!

I've looked at Mail Chimp but they want you to have permission to use each persons email address. I don't have this as I'm getting their information from their websites etc.

Apart from this it seems ideal!

I don't mean to sound negative but it does sound like spam. You've spent time and money on setting up a business you will need to exert a similar amount of energy on attracting your clients, so it's best you identify your potential customers as opposed to having a blanket campaign as I think the latter would be a diservice to your efforts as you are a hard working conscientious person. Good luck in whatever you do.

Tip - if sign up to a service like mailchimp.com (there are loads of others, that's just the one we use), you can send out two titles, each to half your list. Then you'll be able to see from their sneaky data which one got the higher open and clickthrough rate!

Agreed - we do this in our email system (Campaign Monitor).

To the OP: I would be careful about who you email if you do not have permissions / opt ins though...

Sunnydays1- Thanks for the advice. It's not negative I am asking for an honest opinion.

I dont want to be one of those companies that sends hundreds of emails every month. I just want to get details of my business under the noses of people that would benefit from them by sending a couploe of emails. I really like programs such as MailChimp because the emails look a lot more professional than just text (but maybe a bit more like Spam?)

Really it's a vicious circle, I cant get email addresses until people know about me and sign up, people wont know about me or sign up if I cant get my business noticed!
