Hi All

Hope you can help.
Anyone know of a good place to buy cheap laptops. All I'm looking for is something to surf the web wirelessly, with a reasonably large screen.

I've tried Ebay, Ebuyer, Dell and Amazon, but nothing jumps out at me.

Any thoughts would be great.

I've been searching for a laptop for a while as well and I haven't been able to find one that fits my tight criteria. You could try laptopsdirect . co . uk and see how you get on there. Good luck! :-)

Hi,

Are you looking for a netbook or a full laptop? Also, what is the top end of your budget?

Thanks,

Jon

Nothing too major.
Probably all running at the same time would be:

skype
outlook
dreamweaver
fireworks - only simple graphics stuff though

I think one of the key rules for laptop purchases is to go for the highest spec you can possibly afford. For instance, a solid spec from Dell could cost about £500 - is this above your budget?

Ok which operating system are you happy using ?
A business laptop with a 17 inch screen is quite rare nowadays,
You can walk into any currys or comet and pickup a 17 inch laptop with what looks like great spec for £500 but for business they are rubbish, i.e battery life , operating system ect
I would suggest opting for a 15.4 screen laptop and mabye a larger monitor for when your not on the move.

I have been searching for a laptop for the past week... and it was an intense search through a hell of a lot of websites and laptops!

The cheapest sites I found by far were play.com and ebuyer.com, competition couldn't touch them with a barge pole.

After the intense search and scrutiny I decided to go for the Acer Aspire 6930g priced at £479.99 at play.com - http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/6735970/-/Product.html?searchstring=6930g&searchsource=0.

I haven't played around with it but it has had very good reviews.
