best accounting software

I need software to look after my accounts also to create invoices. Nothing fancy just something very simple and easy to use that does the job. I'm on a budget so any freeware is good

There's loads of free open source finance apps if you're runing linux.

For windows I don't know of anything free.

For sub £50 there's Quickbooks summat or other and InstantAdmin.

You can try kashflow (see banner to the right) for free for two months. I'm sure you'll find it fits the bill perfectly.

After the two months it only costs around a tenner a month.

Can't recommend Kashflow highly enough. Loads of us on here use it.

I also recommend KashFlow. We have been using it for 9 months now and it has simplified our invoice and bookkeeping, saved us time and actually made doing the accounts likeable !!!

I also use(d) Kashflow, whilst great if you dont have loads of customers, I found it very irritable in some cases, especially as your customer base grows, very hard to keep track of things. Support is good though, and often (not always) if you request a feature it wil be added, it does work out more expensive than other software with more fetures when you work out all the monthly payments. Its free for a while so give it a go, nothing to lose.

Try IRIS Bookkeeping.

its around £170 per year...but has to be one of most simple ones.

Or even Sage Line 50...but alot of people find this very hard to get to grips with.

My vote has to be for Kashflow. It's a brilliant system for me and really saved me time when I was getting everything in order to give my accountant to do the end of year accounts.

I use Sage Instant Accounts as I'm a very small sole trader and it does what I need it to. I don't use the invoice generating option because I don't need it, but it's there.

If you buy Sage, shop around - it's about half-price on Amazon for example.
