Hi there,

I'm starting an ecommerce store over the next few months. I've looked at a lot of solutions and find many of the themes to be average and not very inspiring. Is there any examples out there of really well designed small ecommerce sites?

Have you decided on the software you're going to use yet? You can get excellent design examples from the Bluepark or Shopify sites that don't need a great deal of skill to set up and tweak. If you're a bit more tech-minded you could get stuck into Woocommerce - a search for woocommerce themes will return plenty of reference sites.

We designed our own. Whether or not it is inspiring is a subjective matter, of course.

And that is the point. The effectiveness of your shop will not be as dependant on the colouring in as it will on the effective marketing.

I could make a design for you. I would love it. You might not. But the ecommerce people on here will be able to tell you what will work and what wont.

It's all very subjective and depends very much on what you are selling to whom.

If you are selling chicken wire then something plain and simple will probably do the job. If you are selling diamond rings you need something smart but this may be a different smart to a site selling makeup.

Like @Paul Norman, I build my own.

We deliver a reliable omnichannel solution with add-ons included. What I would suggest is to focus on the main scope of your business than on solution development. Check your budget and in case you can bear reasonable outsourcing go it otherwise, you will be lost within the long process of platform development. There are many good solutions and there is no an easy answer which is the best. All depends on what you sell, to whom, what kind of features you might need. I would recommend the high level of order processing automation. Simply, Cisco is not the most user-friendly but does the job, not all of the users need a Cisco features...
