Barcode Scanning and Printing Custom Text

I am looking for a way to scan barcodes and for it to then print custom text i have associated to the barcodes.
is there a way to do this in excel or is there any software available for this?

How are you generating the barcodes?

What are you using the scan the barcodes?

The barcodes that are already on the products we sell.

We are not using any barcode scanners at the moment. If my question is possible I will then buy what ever barcode scanner is needed.

I’m a bit confused now. When you scan a barcode all you get is the product info. The scanning software integrates with your POS/inventory management application. What you need to do is find a way to input your custom text into these applications and then set up the print functions.

There will be a way to do this. It all depends on how you are managing the products, but it’s probably going to need some custom add on. Which might cost a fair wodge.

It'd be easy enough to knock something up in Access to do it, if you know what you're doing.

i just need a stand alone program. i will go into some more detail..
It will be used for buffer stock being packed and identified. So when a packer picks up the product to pack they scan the barcode of the product and it will print out the SKU which will need to be linked to the barcode and then print a label to attach to the package.

Unfortunately i do not have much knowledge using Access.
Was hoping there would be some simple software out there ready to buy.
