gritbinsales

got my first website order " ever " today

hopefully many more to come from this website

After many months of working on different set ups

gritbinsales, congrats on the sale. I hope plenty more materialise with winter approaching. :)

As a side note, you might want to check your website as it is not accessible unless the www is added to the front of your domain (means it can`t be reached using just http or just the domain name only which may indicate to some potential customers that your site is down).

It normally relates to a DNS/hosting issue. It`s worth getting fixed as when I visit any sites I normally only type in the domain name + extn.

Firstly : Congrats.

Just to reiterate what someone else has said already... I tried accessing your site without the www and had the same problem. I believe you need to add an A record to your sites DNS. Your web host should be able to sort this out for you.

Secondly: I didn't see any postage prices displayed until I went to checkout. Given that the item I'd added to my basket was at least 120kg and delivery was only coming up at £7, I think you should be shouting about this to your customers.

HTH, and good luck

Congratulations. The absence of a land line number would be off-putting for some.

True. This is easily fixed through somewhere like voipfone.co.uk , they will let you choose a local rate number for your customers for 1.99 a month and you can get the number redirected to your mobile for the call charges by adding credit to your account - or redirected to a landline if that's what you require.

HTH

It's very icy this morning, I'm sure the sales will start coming now.

Got a memo from our managing agents too today saying they are doing the buying of bins, grit and salt, how much do we want.
