Asset valuation

I am trying to find a company that does asset valuation. For example, over the past few years I have been buying equipment (hardware and software) for the company in the IT industry.
I want someone to come round and asses the current value of the items. Sure, I have all receipts but as time goes on, the value of any kind of property goes down (unfortunately).

I want someone to come round and be able to give me a valuation report.

does anyone know what companies do this and how much they charge?

Business assets depreciate in value at different rates as far as i'm aware, this is done on your accounts each year to give you the asset value to the business. The actual resale value of the assets will be different to this of course.

thanks. so what I am referring to specifically is items bought for the business but not necessarily claiming it from the business expenses but rather my own personal money. Either way, it is all "investment" for the business. Who or where can I get valuations on such items?

I'm not sure what you mean sorry. You have bought items personally not through the busines and what value are you looking for, the resale value as they stand? as mentioned above the only way to go really is to find similar and see what people are asking for them.

if you bought them personally and were introducing them to the business i would take the cost price and the standard depreciation value for the amount of time you have owned it and use this value as a loan to the company.

we are talking around £15K. :) Some of these are specialist items. I prefer to get it "professionally" valuated and have paperwork with all the official stamping of the company who carried out the valuation.
