Anything better than Hootsuite

I am decent accountant, but not a great social media/marketeer.
I use the paid for Hootsuite costs (£80 a year)
What i am wanting is something that automatically repeat posts to twitter.

I am wanting to post in the business hours, so that I could design a few posts then have them alternate and repeat every week

Hootsuite doesnt seem to let you auto repeat them and it seems you have to do them one at a time, is there a better way or product of doing what I want. Or can hootsuite do it as I cannot seem to get it to do it.

Honestly you're better off not posting than you are recycling the same posts every week (which it seems like you're wanting to do?).

Just pay somebody to manage your social media, you can get somebody for dirt cheap to just publish articles that are niche relevant every week to your audience(s) that'll do a damn sight better than republishing the same thing, over and over again.

Hope that helps in some way!

@Glenn Martin what are you hoping to achieve with you social media posts? Do you have lots of followers that hang on your every word? Are you posting the exciting news of VAT? Are you hoping it will generate new business? Or is it just something someone said you need to do?

I suspect your social media activities achieve nothing at all so just close the accounts and focus on doing the books.

There are several other paid methods to that where that app can post your content on your scheduled time automatically. Buffer or any other similar app is for posting a post on multiple social media accounts at the same time from the single platform, It will not help you in what you want.

Firstly, there is nothing wrong with recycling tweets. There is a solid business case for it. A tweet has a lifespan of about 18-20 mins max, so your message will only reach a fraction of your target audience. People log on to Twitter at different times of the day so you're chances of reaching them are improved by having the tweet posted at different times of the day. Many major brands have been doing this for a long time - The New York Times, MTV, Buzzfeed, and many of the digital marketing heavyweights (Moz, Search Engine Journal, etc).

However, Twitter have recently said they are going to crack down on the "scheduling and automating of identical tweets" as part of a move to fight bots and automation spam. See announcement here : https://blog.twitter.com/developer/...omation-and-the-use-of-multiple-accounts.html

There is a lot of spam activity on Twitter - duplicate/fake accounts, fake following, re-tweeting etc so this is a move aimed at cleaning most of that up. But as often happens in business, there will be some collateral damage, and in this case, its the ability to recycle your content to maximise your reach.

Marketers and businesses will have to adapt and in the case of recycling Tweets, you won't be able to automate this and instead will have to make your Tweets unique, or at least unique enough to be acceptable. Its not that difficult to re-write your headline or your Tweet. In fact its a good idea anyway to have different versions - then you can test the response in your analytics (which tweet got most engagement).

@fisicx if you have nothing useful to post I don't know why you feel the need to, just go and focus on whatever it is you do, and leave this to the adults.

I get quite a lot from my social media activity thank you very much and will not be closing and my accounts any time soon.

Thanks every else who provided useful information I will take a look at Buffer.

Hi Glenn, I can recommend a very good and low cost alternative. They are a new kid on the block but going places - www.contentcal.io

Absolutely superb tool, they are a UK company, great bunch, superb support and growing nicely. They've just incorporated the twitter duplicate post update, so will keep you on an even keel. Like buffer you can use the basic version for free to see if its suitable. If you need more functionality, then it starts at £15 per month which is unlikely to break the bank.

Have been using it since it was in beta, but it's nicely polished now and my team use it for all our social media scheduling.
