Anyone know where i can find Web Design Leads in the UK (England)?

I've seen mixed reviews about approvedindex.com but when i spoke to them, they said that they have improved there services since 2008 and i noticed that there arent any bad reviews about them in recent times. So any news about them would be very much appreciated.

I would also like to know if there are any other web design leads generation services out there that provide qualified leads on a pay per lead basis?

I've also found the following:
theukwebdesigncompany.com (sells each lead to a maximum of 4 buyers)

theseed.com (reffering all customers to approvedindex because they have too many clients. Are they the same company or friends with benifits??)

getbiz.com (i havnt contacted them yet so dont know how much they charge)

Why not network at local event or promote here?
Hi, Thanks for replying.
When you say local event, what do you mean? I'm finding it hard to get contracts through reffereals from word of mouth. I've only literally had 1 so far. Also i didnt know were allowed to promote here? Is there a sections i can go to within this forumn in order to do so? Cheers.

My business partner has been tempted by a few of these lead providers. We've never found any value from them. I'd recommend using search marketing. Try "website design" and your local and regional towns.
Thanks for the reply, i dont understand? i get web design companys when i type that. I want to be able to get customers for my business. How do you generate your business? Have you tried approvedindex? or did you and your partner try a different company? Cheers

Rooney1337,

My recommendation is for you to buy the search term "website design your town". Then your name will appear.

We get all of our business via organic search or referrals from existing clients. My business partner has used two different leads companies. I can't recall their names.

most of the people who need web design service will start with an online search so SEO is probably what you want...

Alternatively, are you willing to pay for leads? i.e. $1 per enquiry or something like that? If so, you can consider CPA ads or affiliate marketing perhaps?

Cost per action advertisement seems like a good option especially at $1 dollar an action...but i highly doubt it will only cost that much as the keyword "web designers" cost atleast £2-3 just for cpc...so i assume cpa will cost alot more as its more of a garaunteed lead.

However i am still interested, and would like some tips regarding this technique if anyone has any. Do you know of any good cpa websites for web designers? does google offer this service?

Hello. What kind of webdesign do you specialise in? Is there a particular field? (e.g. e-commerce). Also what platform do you use? (e.g. Joomla, Wordpress etc.)
As part of our digital marketing solutions, we often work with good designers. Website is need, which needs traffic, which needs sales conversion. All very closely knit.
Let me know maybe there is potential.

AVOID APPROVEDINDEX LIKE THE PLAGUE...... THEY ARE A GREAT BIG CON. I own a web design company and made that very mistake...... for the 1st month they only sent 4 leads per week, 1 lead was only interested in a local designer yet they were the other side of the country so wouldnt speak to us YET THE STILL SENT US THEM..... 1 lead was after a website that was above our price and difficulty criteria YET THEY STILL SENT US THEM............... 1 lead didnt have any funding whatsoever for a Website (in fact some where on benefits ????) and ONLY 1 LEAD OUT OF THE 4 PER WEEK EVERY WEEK PASSED AS A LEAD

YET THEY STILL TRY TO BULLY US INTO PAYING FOR THE LEADS !!!!!!!!!!

MONTH 2 we put the Account on hold - YET THEY STILL SENT LEADS THAT WE DIDNT OPEN, AND THEY STILL ARE TRYING TO CHARGE US EVEN THOUGH THEY AGREED TO PUT THE ACCOUNT ON HOLD - DO NOT USED APPROVED INDEX

DO NOT USE A COMPANY CALLED COMPANEO, THEY CHARGE A SET UP FEE BECAUSE THEIR LEADS ARE THAT POOR AND THEY EXPECT TO LOSE YOUR BUSINESS AFTER MONTH 1, AFTER ONE MONTH AND A MASSIVE COST AND NOT ONE RESULT OUT OF THEM ( THEY SEND LEADS THAT ARE REALLY JUST CONTACT DETAILS OF SOMEONE THAT HAS THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING A WEBSITE BUT NOT REALLY THAT BOTHERED OR EVEN INTERESTED AND STILL EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THEM !!!!!!!! COMPLETE USELESS AND TOTAL LIARS

DO NOT USE QUOTE QUEEN, AFTER MUCH EXPENSE AND ODD ALMOST TRAINED RESPONSES COMING FROM EVERY SINGLE LEAD WE PAID FOR I DID SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT THE OWNER ALSO OWNS A WEBSITE DESIGN COMPANY HIMSELF WHICH IS A TOTAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST CONSIDERING THEY ARE MEANT TO BE SELLING US UNIQUE UNTOUCHED WEB DESIGN LEADS !!!!!!!!
HE IS SELLING ON HIS DUFF LEADS OR LEADS OUT OF YOUR AREA WHEN HE KNOWS THAT THE CLIENT WONT SIGN WITH US !!!!!!! I KNOW BECAUSE WE OFFERED NEXT TO NOTHING AND STARTED SIGNING DEALS AND THEN GOT AN EMAILS SAYING THE MD WAS DEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE THEN RANG AND ASKED FOR HIM AT HIS WEBSITE COMPANY AND THEY PASSED US THROUGH TO HIM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A CON ARTIST - AVOID QUOTEQUEEN

Now I am unlike Most of the techy Web Designers out there and have been heavily involved in Sales most of my working life and in some impressive positions and have started companies from scratch.......... so if we dont sell it, it probably cant be sold and since these are generally new companies we are calling or small business WHY WOULD THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE !!!!!!

After being ripped off by Approved Index, Companeo and Quote Queen..... We have gone back to the drawing board and learnt to find our Own leads, they are all selling naff leads that are either sold on to everyone, or they get first bite of the cherry or the customer isnt really interested anyway...... why pay £30 + for someones contact number and name......... because that is all you get

And if anyone attempts to say they are any different, I know loads of companies that have had exactly the same experiences with them all

Sorry about the late reply, I guess you’re looking for landing pages right? We can create landing pages using Photoshop and create the website once the design has been approved.

We can also design word press themes but we don’t specialise in developing pluggins and modifying functionality of word press. Not that we can’t, we just don’t SPECIALIZE in it at this current moment in time. It is however something that is on our agenda.

However we can customize the design of the theme so that it blends in with the rest of your website. So if it’s just the design you’re looking for, then we can assist you there.

We basically do brochure websites mainly, and the occasional customised CMS when the price is right. Recently we built a website with the exact features of gumtree.com so we are able to develop complex database dependant website.

Do a mystery shop and fill out a lead on any of those lead gen sites and see how many calls you get (and £ quotes from each). See if you can compete with the prices being quoted etc.

In my experience the leads are VERY low quality (some I even question if they are genuine, some guy at home and a mobile number - who when you call clearly isn't even after a website). And those that were genuine were 100% price focused looking for the cheapest quote (total disregard for anything else such as quality of the solution). So if you are the cheapest it may work for you? But you won't know that until you find out who you're competing with.

Someone small and local should look at strategic partnerships, yellow pages, geo targeted adwords, LinkedIn, networking clubs, chamber of commerce and so on.

Be careful with this guy, promised me so much ages ago. Filled in a form and then ZILCH!
Not even a telephone call. Completely wasted my time
