One question for you, are these two schemes one and the same? I read them as being two separate schemes.

Cash Grant for Retail, Hospitality and Leisure

Small Business Grant Funding

So we can be awarded 10k for the Small Business Grant Funding Scheme as we already pay little or no business rates because of small business rate relief (SBRR).

But we can also claim for Cash Grant for Retail, Hospitality and Leisure as we are retail?

Thanks,

Thats a shame. It's not worded very well as it the Cash Grant for Retail, Hospitality and Leisure is only for specific sectors whilst the other is just if you pay little to no business rates. Could have made it clearer I think.

https://www.businesssupport.gov.uk/small-business-grant-funding/

The Government is providing additional funding for Local Authorities to support small businesses that already pay little or no business rates because of small business rate relief (SBRR), rural rate relief (RRR) and tapered relief. This will provide a one-off grant of £10,000 to eligible businesses to help meet their ongoing business costs.

https://www.businesssupport.gov.uk/cash-grant-for-retail-hospitality-and-leisure/

If your business is in the retail, hospitality or leisure sector, you will receive a cash grant of up to £25,000 per property.

Businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of £15,000 and under may be eligible for a grant of £10,000.

Businesses in these sectors with a property that has a rateable value of over £15,000 and less than £51,000 may be eligible for a grant of £25,000.

They are two schemes BUT you can only get one grant per property. So you can only apply for one.

My office has RV of £18,000 and the council have rejected our £10k grant application. We are stuffed. This was a lifeline.

We don’t qualify for the higher grant as the business is not leisure, restaurant or a pub so declined for that also.

I hear MPs are getting £10k to help them work at home. Meanwhile my business will likely have to lay staff off. Oh and the council took £900 off us this week for first instalment of rates. You couldn’t make it up.

We applied online on 30th March and got our £10,000 grant on Monday 6th April but they had rang and emailed to check things after we filled in the online form so I think this delayed it.
I would say to check your councils website as after all most people have closed their businesses so no point in the council sending letters there.

[QUOTE="Stedurham, post:How long will 10k last though? It’s not enough just too longs closing, we won’t be open for at least another 3 weeks and money will be really low even by then[/QUOTE]

Expect it's meant to last 3 months as that's what they are paying self employed in June back dated 3 months.
