Any recommendations for print-on-demand service?

I’m looking to publish a short book (maybe 50pp).

There’s a whole load of companies that will print it in a short run.

Anyone have any recommendations, or experience to share?

I think ideally I’d sell it online and have the printer print and send to the customer rather than deal with stock myself, but open to ideas

    Thanks.

I don't have recommendations on who; but print on demand will be more expensive than printing in bulk - unfortunately. I'm sure you're already aware of this though.

However, saying that, what about Amazon? I know, I know, Amazon - eurgh. But, they do have the KDP method. Just Google and see if it would fit what you want!

Amazon's KDP service is very good. Free to setup a book and they will provide a free ISBN. You need to have the files for text and cover properly prepared as they won't give help. It is worth paying an experienced book designer to do this for you.

Amazon will sell and distribute the books for for you and provide you with a royalty payment on sales. You can also order cost price 'author copies' that you can sell/give away yourself.

I forgot about bookvault.app. It's a British company and offers more binding styles, paper choices and page sizes than most other POD suppliers. I've done one book with them in paperback and hardback editions and the result is very good.

There is a setup fee but it's only £20.
