Am I missing something with shopwired?

Like everyone else I have done my googling, reading forums and posting questions and everyone has been helpful.

I was close to choosing between shopify and squarespace until I came across Shopwired which seems to be a really good solution in terms of functionality, design and costs. So what am I missing?

Is it too good to be true as it it hardly seems to be mentioned.

Is there some catch that I need to be wary of?

You choose the platform you like and the one that best suits your needs. If you think £360/year is good value then go for it.

The only catch is each time you want a new feature (like labels) you need to pay extra.

You are way overthinking everything. I'd begin with a free solution to test if the business is viable. If it proves to be so you can then upgrade to a more bespoke solution. Remember, your initial sales will be tiny, you will almost certainly be running at a loss for a many months until you find the right combination of marketing and sales platform. It may be your best sales come from a third party retailer.

PS: Just looked some of their examples and they are a bit naff. You are only selling one product: underpants. You don't need an ecommerce platform.

ShopWired is a very good platform.

From an ecommerce perspective, things like managing your inventory and orders are really good, they also have a good selection of apps and extensions. The only two real downsides of the platform are that the theme customisation is a bit limited compared to some other platforms and also that the extensions need to be coded in to your site, which you can do yourself or pay ShopWired to do it for you.

Other than that, there isn't much bad to say about them. I personally like that they are UK based and that the support is really good as well.
