Despite the fact that we laugh and joke about the possibility of their being Aliens, we don't really know do we?

They've discovered that there was water on Mars, who is to say that there was not a race of beings up there? we certainly can't yet... can we?

:)

You've never been to Hastings have you? Some very odd creatures down there, all with dubious heritage.

I reckon that there probably is life 'out there', and, as you say, probably evidence of life in our solar system.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are advanced life forms out there beyond our galaxy - it seems statistically unlikely and rather arrogant to assume that we are necessarily the most advanced beings in the universe (although it is possible).

However, the distances are so vast that I do think it unlikely that we have been, or will, be visited by other lifeforms.

Well, we've reached Mars... Whom is to say that they haven't reached us? ;)

With the concept of transportation already in flow (and has been for quite a few years according to a documentary I saw recently!) Who is to say that such things as worm holes are not already being manipulated by other beings?

On a thoroughly evil note. Proof of life that's not of this earth will really cause some serious "re-writing of the rule books" yet again for the creationists :)
or evolutionists
it could be that those "aliens" created us and everything else that lives on here with the knowledge that evolution does the rest . like planting a seed.
so the evidene of "aliens" can work both ways
i wouldnt discount creation just yet jimmy
;)

imagine if we seeded mars.
created life including human life. imagine if we told that life we were god.
hmmm
