I have come to an agreement with a forum to advertise my products on their site for a cut in sales. What solutions does anyone have in terms of tracking which customers to my site have come from their site (individual customers, not just traffic of course as I need to see what if anyone's purchased products from me after being referred by the other site)?

Add a tracking code to the affiliate URL. Pass this to the checkout on your site.

How you do this all depends on the platform you are using to sell your products.

You could use the Raven Tools url builder to create a campaign url for Google Analytics. You can then track the source, clicks and sales from that campaign.

If you're only tracking a few products this will work because you can create a few urls for each product. If they are pushing loads then you may need another solution. It's free though.

See: https://raventools.com/marketing-reports/google-analytics/url-builder/

Thanks again Matt. I've set up Google Analytics, the url Builder from Raven Tools for this GA campaign and incorporated it into my ad banner html. But, how do I see any results on Google Analytics for who's clicked on the ad and who's purchased? Which section is it in on GA? Is it save automatically on GA once I've created the URL via Raven Tools?
