Hi Everyone -

Hoping someone can offer some advice and more information!

I am currently in the process of setting up an aesthetics business specializing in facial fillers and other treatments - I am not a qualified nurse so I will not be doing the treatments, I intend to employ a qualified nurse whilst I run the business.

I am curious to know what kind of insurance I will need etc - I presume that the nurse I employ will have to be fully insured to perform treatments and I will of course cover the cost of this, however will I need a separate insurance for the business to operate in Aesthetics? Do i need to be qualified in Aesthetics to run the business? I am slightly confused and have been told different things..

You could open a hairdressers but not be a hairdresser? So surely its the same thing?!

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Your absolutely right. As a business owner you don't need to be the one doing the work. In fact the better businesses are scalable and that's the holy grail. Many people are self employed and think they have businesses which they do but in reality that doesn't make them a successful business person. In fact a successful business person is able to transfer skills across to other ideas.
You will deal with things such as
marketing, administration, HR and more core subjects most self employed people do none of that.

It does help if you do/have done the treatments to know how it works and pitfalls but in fact get the other stuff right and you can cookie cutter the system you create across other ideas.
Good luck.

Hi. Have you found an aesthetic nurse happy to be employed by you? I would have thought it's only the much bigger businesses where this would work. All the aesthetic nurses/doctors I've come across are self employed and work in salons on a % basis. This way they have their own insurance and qualifications But if you have, then best of luck of course .
