Adwords...advice needed!

Hi,

I've recently opened an e-commerce site, and yesterday launched an adwords campaign.

My main keyword is 'music'...rather broad to say the least. I'm getting position 5.6, with a huge exposure, but my ctr is only around .11%.

Someone has noted that I'm heading for a 'Google Slap'?

I have included all of our search terms, based on our analytics data. Unfortunately this keyword is the only one bringing any clicks at all. I will suspend it for now and work on maximising traffic from other keywords.

For a new adwords campaign start off with as many relevant search terms and words that you can possibly think of - Google will suggests lots more that you'd not included.

At the end of each week, increase the cost per click of keywords generating traffic and converting to sales, reduce the cost of search terms proving costly without any conversions, increase the CPC of terms not getting clicked yet.

Repeat this each week and before you know it your overall conversion rate will increase and the return on your adwords investment will improve.

You must have conversion tracking otherwise you have no way of knowing what paid for traffic is working, or just costly.

I'll leave the next steps, split testing and so on for the proper SEOs to explain :p:D
