I would like to have lots of traffic on my website but I'm struggling to find any punters to visit so far I have been posting in facebook also some in Instagram trying to avoid paid advertisement at the moment. If someone is kind enough to share some knowledge it will be appreciated.

Why do you think people browsing facebook or instagram will be interested in your website?

If you want lots of traffic you can pay someone in India $5 and they will get you hundreds of visitors.

On the other hand, wouldn't you prefer to get some highly targeted visitors who are more likely to convert.

Yes, but they will be worthless.

As I said, it's not visitors you want, it's good leads. And good leads won't be coming from facebook, instagram or most other SM platforms.

You could have written your post explaining what you do, what your website address is, why you do whatever it is you do better than others and why people should visit your website. If you don't think of saying these things at every opportunity why would anyone else think of gong to your website?

If you want traffic on your website you need to do SEO and link building.Marketing plays a very important role in each business.You need to market your productt and seee why your product is better that your competitor.once you understand how to build link then you can get more traffic on your website.

The paid advertisements should be aimed at the specific customers you have identified.
Just using social media is spray and pray - putting stuff out there hoping someone is interested.
Which as you have found - they aren't.

Traffic is one thing. Ideally you convert some of the traffic to customers - how much you convert is down to you.

To break into organic traffic, try writing articles that answer questions your customers or visitors are likely to search for.

For example, if you have a business installing soundproofing materials, write blog posts about how to soundproof a room, or how to install a soundproof door.

To get inspiration for the kinds of questions people type into Google use a website called Answer the Public. Because I'm new here, I'm not allowed to include a link, but just Google 'Answer the Public'. When you get to the site, type in words describing your business, for example 'soundproofing' or 'soundproof', and it will supply you with loads of questions that people ask.

Be warned, blog posting is not a quick route to traffic, especially if yours is a new website and you are targeting a competitive industry. However, if you are comprehensive and helpful it is a reliable long-term strategy for free organic traffic.

Those of us who have around marketing a while have seen this scenario so many times.

Someone gets an idea and creates/invents/dreams up an idea/product/concept/masterplan.

They build a website and all their friends say 'wow the site looks great, you're going to be a millionaire!'

All you gotta do now is............wait for it..............figure out how to get some traffic.

WRONG SO WRONG

1. Is there a market for what I've created?

2. Can I easily and or cost effectively get that market to have a look at what I've got?

3. If the answer to those 2 questions is yes.....BINGO.

4. Go and create your product/website/ads etc etc

So many people fail to understand that without knowing how to get interested potential customers....all those great ideas are just wasted.

Hi-

I have a few tips for you to definitely consider :

1. Firstly, don't consider paid ads as of yet, you need to gain better understanding of marketing to build up the company profile before doing so (you don't want to be left wasting money!) Have you thought about creating good content for consistent posting on social media? Make sure you stay on brand and make it appealing and engaging. The more you use these pages, the better they will look in the future if you do decide to invest in paid ads.

2.Use stories! instagram stories reach more of your followers than posts. You can do polls, questions, reposts of your post, links and even more - these are all more interactive for consumers. Then make sure your account is a business profile - giving you access to instagram insights. This is like Google analytics but for instagram; keeping track of who's sharing, saving or visiting your profile through posts and stories. It is a great way to see what content is working and getting the most impressions.

3.If you have a website, make sure everything is on brand and match your social media posts with the same brand image and feel. Have links or text which tell consumers your social media account usernames. Use Google Analytics to gather data on who's clicking where. Invest in automated emails to keep potential leads into a sales funnel. This means instead of losing a lead, you could have a better chance of them returning to convert into a sale. Automated emails are a great way to keep in contact with customers and remind them of you.

4. Know your target audience and do more market research to reach their wants and needs. Ask previous consumers who have purchased from you for some feedback or review and post about it. Also use it to make any developing adjustments

To increase traffic on your website you need to do Search engine optimization.
Try to answer more and more questions of your target audience by writing good content on your website. Build Links to your website from high domain sites.
Based on your target audience you can use more social media platforms. Other than Facebook and Instagram, you can use Pinterest.
Try to find what your competitors are doing.
Proper Marketing is very crucial for building a good reputation on the web.
