advice really

I ordered an item from a supplier i have had a long standing relationship with.
Waited for some days the item never arrived so he sends another.
Again no arrival.

He sends me a link to show the item was delivered, but its gone to my OLD address (he never confirmed the address before sending).
We went to the old address to ask if there was anything to be advised there wasnt.

So his attitude is, thats tough i sent it, might fault for not updating my details with him

So now i am out of pocket (not by much £45) and i have no product that i ordered.

As a supplier myself i get it that i would not be happy being out of pocket. But then i ALWAYS confirm addresses and names before despatch. Especially if its a second attempt.
His take on it is, i could only have changed the address if i'd know it was changed (i thought he had the new address as i am a regular customer.

So question, is there anything i can do?

Many thanks in advance for any advice offered

The obligation is on you to make sure the address YOU gave them is still valid. It's not the supplier's job to check each order to make sure the address kept on file is still current.

Your opening sentence starts "I ordered an item".

Do you not specify a delivery address with wherever you order from? It should be a pretty standard process when ordering anything from anywhere.

Agree with @fisicx - this is completely down to you to supply an up to date address when ordering. It's entirely your fault.

No business is going to go out of their way to double check an address is correct with a customer, not if there is a provision for them to input/update it themselves.
