Hi Chaps/esses

Im fighting the urge to go down the WP route, mainly because I'm worried about the bloatware, the need to have so many plugins to do anything with Wp other than a simple business display, also the loading speeds.

My site will be live text reporting on multi live events on the same day. Live reporters will this do thruogh pre sign up and then frontend reporting.

Can anyone recommend a good clean simple CMS so I can manage each each live event 30+ and each user ( 2/3 live reporters per event)

I don't think WP is going to fit the bill but I've never used it

......it will be fine. If you have never given it a go that might be something to change. There is a good reason wordpress is so widely used, but like any tool there is room for there to be both really good developments and really bad ones.

So find a good developer, setup your wordpress site and ensure it runs fast and securely. You can of course go Joomla or Drupal etc but any criticism that can be levelled at wordpress is equally valid against them.

I think CraftCMS would fit the bill. It's more developer orientated, you should have no issues setting it up for your different live events and granular user permissions are baked in.

Personally (if on my own time) I might just create a bespoke application for something like this with basic interface for the live reporters, I find it a pain to manage CMS environments.

WP isn't bloated. It's the themes and plugins that slow it down. For what you want a single bespoke plugin is all you need.

Yes it will fit the bill.

But if you plan to use Craft good luck. It's a good bit of kit but nowhere near as flexible or as well supported as WP.
