1and1 domain host, what are they doing?

After asking for the contract to be cancelled i was still able to login to the account and presumed i would for the next year seeing as the domain would exist in my name for the next year. But today i got billed for £1.19 for some reason when there was a 30 day trial and i ended it within 3 days of opening the domain name. Then i go to try log into the account now to see what's going on and i can't now. What is going on because i havent a clue.

This is nothing unusual for 1and1.

Pick up the phone and talk to them. The £1.19 is an automated billing and the login problem is because their automated system has shut down your account.

Renewal fees, transfer fees, unlocking fees and so on.

If they have charged you then there might be some clause mentioned in their TOS for it.

Yes I'm afraid the very large overly commercial providers like 1&1 do this a lot. They market free or £1 deals, get you to sign up to a contract with your card details, and can then hold you to ransom through their small print.

Any decent provider wouldn't charge transfer fees and so forth.

Your best bet is contacting them and if you're unhappy about any charges then make this clear. They might wave charges if you complain about it.

Don't think 1&1 charge transfer fees now. Just by chance, I was looking at that a few minutes ago.

I have heard bad reviews about 1&1 and their hidden fees. I would contact them, they might refund it however check the TOS for any small print which you might have missed.
