Is there any companies offering 0845 numbers (or similar) that can be diverted to mobile phones without paying a monthly fee?

I have used http://www.just0845numbers.co.uk/ to divert to a landline, but if I want to divert to mobile they charge a monthly fee.

I don't mind paying for call charges but trying to avoid monthly fees.

Anyone know of such a plan?

No-one will offer you a free mobile divert (except on rip-off numbers like 070) - it's not a viable business model.

You're better off finding a company with an honest business model so you know that they'll be here tomorrow, that they have some sort of customer service and there are no hidden charges.

For comparison, we charge £1.99 per month for an 0845 (although you'd be better advised to use a normal geographic number for the same cost) and 12p per minute to divert to a mobile (billed per second, 1p minimum charge, no contract)

    I use https://www.flextel.ltd.uk/

They are a great company offering you a range of 08** numbers which can dirvert for free to your home phone or mobile. They also have a free fax to email service, so you can get a free phone number and free fax number. I use them and they don't charge me any monthly fee's

    Enjoy :D

Its like anything else, you get what you pay for. If you want to use a company that offers free numbers and no monthly charges go ahead, but ask yourself, as a business how do they cover overheads etc. I would recommend using a reputable, well established and secure company for your business needs. It is business after all and if you take a free phone number there is no guarantee that the company will be operational tomorrow, hence you could end up losing custom. I dont wish to 'blow my own horn' but the company i represent (planet numbers) is in my opinion the best in the market

How do you charge for the divert? Would I just need to top up the account balance when needed or is it credits that expire if not used in the month?

For mobiles, you add pre-pay credit to your account when you need to. For landlines you can use a combination of minutes packages and calling credit.

There's an auto top-up feature that will re-bill your card for whatever amount you like when your credit falls to a level that you also set yourself. That way you never run out of credit but you only top up when necessary.

So you can set it up to bill your card for, say, £10 whenever your credit falls below £1.

Hi. I have an 0845 that I acquired years ago for flumpence (£15 if I recall) with no monthly charges at all. It's set to a landline. The only additional charges are if you want to change to a different landline, so unless you're on the move all the time, it's very good value.

For divert, I just have caller divert from BT so, if on, any/all calls go to the number I choose, including mobile. I pick up the cost difference.

Great, so any top up that is unused in one month carries over to the next?

I went with a landline redirect with CJD and not had any issues, got a little stuck setting up but a swift call to their call centre sorted it and I am more than happy with the service.

£1.99 a month for the landline, and then a small charge for the redirect to the mobile.

I agree with CJD - it is not possible to get a 0845 which diverts to a mobile for no monthly fee.

The cost to divert the call to the mobile is more than you pay to call the 0845 number itself so no way a business would be able to offer this without being at a loss themselves.

You can do one of two things. Divert to landline (free) and then divert your landline to your mobile. The problem is you will not be able to receive calls to your landline without it being diverted to your mobile.

The downside is you will be charged by your provider to have this as a feature, and the cost to divert would be about 30 pence per minute. The caller would also be faced with a "please wait whilst your call is being diverted".

Like CJD, we provide the 0845 to mobile service by bundling it with our call forwarding package giving you a virtual landline number (01/02) which initiates the divert to your mobile seamlessly charging you just 10pence per minute. Our monthly fee for this is 6GBP per month.
