Having said that, once the data has been collected nothing stops you from having the directory printed instead if you so wish.

Speaking of my neighborhood, there are 2 local directories. Judging by their circulation figures and time they have been around they are doing it right for themselves, advertisers and readers.

As for leaflets - they are cheap and quite effective [for the price].
What I haven't tried yet is to supply some useful personalized items instead, like trolley tokens or beer openers or fridge magnets. Yes, they are more expensive but then most of them wouldn't end it the bin straight away...
I would knock Land Registry or Council door first. Your best bet is to find which estates have been built between 1991 - 2001. This should give you plenty of opportunities, since you are not looking for single properties anyway.
