Thanks for the replies.
To begin with, I was slightly more lenient/accepting of his excuses (which i'm sure are valid due to the climate), as I had a bit of a buffer amount to cover mortgage payments....this is now running low, and I prefer to keep a bit in there for contingency.
Mhall- I...
Yeah pretty much the above...which I accept and appreciate, hence why i've given him as many chances as I have, but my patience is running thin now. The unit is in the City Centre (Leicester) and is in a fairly decent area, so whilst there are quite a few empties in some parts of town, my side...
Without a doubt, I always get more than 1 quote for any work that i'm having done...the higher the value/importance of the work, the more quotes I get.
To give an example, once I was getting some fencing done- was a relatively straightforward job, but the 5 quotes ranged from £150 to £1000...
Whilst I dont disagree with the crux of what the previous 2 posters have said, in that its down to you....I do think there is some serious value in having a mentor.
An experienced mentor gives you a bit of a sounding board for asking the stupid questions you may otherwise be reluctant to ask...
Sorry for sounding negative, but I cant help but think you've somewhat done things in the opposite way....by starting a company and then considering the actual business plan after.
Anyway, you are where you are- not sure what bank you've gone with, but some offer new business free...
I echo what estwig has said.
You get some who see it as 'playing' the system, but if this is the difference between a new business folding or surviving, then who's to say if its any less worthwhile than those who simply cant be arsed to find a job?
Glad someone else mentioned ebay, I think its somewhat overlooked thesedays.
Whilst facebook/twitter can have tremendous value, due to popularity and (lack of) cost of using...ebay is still a brilliant portal.
Not necessarily to sell your items on there, but i've seen plenty of ebay shops...
^ can imagine that would be a bit of a frustration...but at least when it comes to future dealings, you have this example to mention when your methods are (incorrectly) challenged again.
There are so many variations in terms of thickness/gloss/finish etc, I have always found it easier just to get done from a local printer instead of online tbh- just so you're fully aware with what you're getting and know what it looks/feels like before comitting to an order.
Echo what others...
Not a silly Q, I shouldve really mentioned that in my OP- its commercial.
HFE- he's definitely not cash rich, you're right- its the equity within his residential property that we'd be going after.
I take no pleasure in doing this, but as you say, excuse after excuse.
Based on a breakdown of the work given....£2.5k is high, no 2 ways about it.
I'm sure others will disagree, as they have- but thats my opinion, based on, I would say moderate experience in this area.
I'm not an expert by any means, but having done a few houses, it seems OTT
Thanks for your reply...
He's struggling rent wise, but has some equity within his house- and so thought it may push him towards either increasing his mortgage to release some cash, or putting a charge on.
He's pretty much ignored the letters which have come from the agent, and we struggle to...
