We leased a Xerox digital printer a year ago, which was a low mileage machine & supposed to be able to print 30,000 per month.
We were told it would be refurbished prior to arrival.
When it came, not all parts of the machine fitted into the building despite our account manager knowing where...
Old thread but i've only just noticed these links in expensive backlinks software.
DId UKBF issue any notification about this to members as it crippled my website & correlated with a huge drop in rankings which we could not fathom. Now looking back it correlated perfectly with website rankings...
I wasn't referring to being VAT registered.
This post is about the amount of VAT we're having to pay since we started printing ourselves....vat on the printer lease, the paper, equipment, imposition software, our guillotine purchase.
These are not small sums of money.
We're going to speak...
The issue is that we have never noticed VAT previously as we did not buy supplies due to being a service business. Now we have to factor in the vat on everything from paper to our printer lease which is a large amount on a monthly basis.
Newchodge: The printer is the reason we are having to pay...
Hi,
We're baffled by the rules regarding VAT & hope for some help.
We've always been a sole trader but now we have a printer we're getting hit by VAT & so maybe need to become a limited company?
One thing that baffles me is the following:

We didn't have to pay anything for the replacements, this was included in our 5p clicks.
These were received within 36 hours & they're definitely official xerox & not compatibles as they have the security stickers & I had a ton of official looking emails regarding it.
We have a phone contract & we have to pay £78 a month for it.
They are supposed to pay us back £30 per month every 3 months however they are 2 months late with payments, despite being told 4 times it would definitely be paid on a certain day & generally I have had to chase this all year for...
Just updating this thread based on our experience of having a production printer now...
Some were saying it was insane to consider leasing a printer & buying refurbished outright was the best way to go but we got a machine that had very low clicks & had been treated very well in a university...
We got a lease on a xerox 550, bustled fiery, OHCF, booklet maker for £250 monthly on a 3 year lease. At 5k colour clicks a month.
We discussed this at length so i'm happy no dodgy clauses exist (free installation, no installation charges etc)
We went for this as it includes a lot of training...
To me this is like a smoker who makes his own saying a roll up is hand made by an artisan craftsman.
I deleted that from my original post as it's blunt....but i can't think of another way to put it so here it is.
If I bought a machine outright, do companies exist that will cover the toner & maintenance for a fee? Or is that just not something that people do?
Also what are people's thoughts on buying from auction sites? I see most listings say it's been maintained by Xerox since purchase which makes me...
