Best way to buy new vans...

The new Fiat Ducato's from last year or so have improved quite a bit. But anyway, you say the vans don't get looked after very well? Leasing or Contract Hire will cost you a lot in repairing any damage at the end of the term. Leasing and contract hire can potentially help with cash flow as...

Courier and taxes sending to Russia?

Russia is such a pain to get freight into at times. A few of the carriers won't take non docs due to customs problems. I have a few options for Russia so haven't got stuck yet.

    Importing goods from France

That doesn't restrict movement of goods though.

    Importing goods from France

You can ask them to put your VAT number on the invoice which will allow them to zero rate it. Then you will need to declare this on your VAT return. There is no customs involvement between EU countries so you will not need any paperwork or have to pay any taxes.

    Exporting to Russia

Russia isn't the easiest place to get freight into and generally most couriers won't offer a full service to deliver shipments other than documents due to customs restrictions. As a freight company we fly freight into Russia but our customers terms to the receiver are that they take care of...

    Silver vans

Silver looks smarter. I won't buy a white van again.

200 days until London 2012: Will your business benefit?

I can't see a way it will benefit mine to be honest. I have a few customers in the area of the cycle races so will cause a few disruptions with them and traffic delays in other areas.

    Any members of BNI?

I was invited to a BNI meet once and there was quite a range of people there and some trades that I didn't think would have been involved were present. However it wasn't for me as I didn't like the way they read out and encourage referrals and how much it was worth. Also I don't think the people...

Volkswagen - Need to learn basic sales technique

I've not had any problems with the VW dealers (vans and cars) I have dealt with although prefer to do things face to face in person rather than on the phone.

    Haulage business

As a dedicated curtain side van with a fork lift available at each end probably about £300-350 + VAT if my iPhone is correct at 182 miles. If pallets are over size or over 1100kgs combined and a 7.5t is needed cost goes up massively. Sending on an overnight pallet service probably about £400 +...

Do you sell buttons? Lady in my office is a keen knitter and can't seem to find any she likes locally. We're in Basingstoke.

Couriers Price Goes Up 43% Overnight!

43% is very steep! Courier rates have not changed too much as the fuel costs haven't increased by a great deal recently so it seems quite strange to me. Where are you based in the UK?

    Customers taking the P.............

I was asked to draw a unicorn fighting a bear on the comments section from my customers customer when sending out there order. I was in a good mood and so fulfilled their request. My customer liked it and so did the receiver. Wouldn't make a habit of it but it doesn't hurt to do something out of...

    Range Rover Company Car

I am pretty sure BMW have a company car tax calculator on their website. I have heard of other people who lease privately and then give a car allowance.
