Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well and has had a good weekend.

I have an idea for a shower gel that i would like discuss production of.

I would like to get in touch with the right manufacturer that i could start work with and trialling different ingredients / formulas to get the desired shower gel i have in mind.

Done so googling and found some options but thought id take to this forum for any recommendations or advice on the topic.

Thanks in advance,
Have a great day 😊

I doubt very much any manufacturer would be interested in working with you. They have their own research labs and run their own trials.

Why can’t you do your own testing at home?

Even an independent testing lab will require you to supply all the ingredients and define the manufacturing process. This will include the order of inclusion along with any mixing plus heat and cooling cycles. It’s likely also you will need to understand the chemistry involved so they can test each stage.

A friend worked in such a lab. I asked him last night about how it worked.

The most important thing before approaching any manufacturer is having a clear brief on what you actually want the product to do, the skin feel, fragrance direction, key ingredients, and target price point, because manufacturers will take you much more seriously and give you more useful feedback when you come with specifics rather than a general idea, and it's also worth knowing that for selling in the UK and EU market your finished formula will need a proper safety assessment before it can go on sale so factoring that into your development budget from the start will save you a headache later.
