UK Ltd company doing business overseas

Hi,

New to this forum.
We are a UK based Ltd company offering consultancy services.
We have a well developed opportunity to engage with a client abroad (in the Philippines) to carry out consultancy services. The work will be entirely remote (working from the UK and teams calls with the client in the Philippines) and should take about 4 months to complete.
Is it necessary to have an entity set up in the Philippines to carry out this work? Do our staff need a visa to carry out this work? Ideally we do not need to set up any entity and we can work direct with the client in the Philippines.

You are just a contractor to the overseas client. All you need to do is raise the invoices and work the same way we do any other client.

I've been doing work for a company in the Philippines for years and this is exactly how we do it. They send over a request for work. I do the work and send them an invoice. It's about as simple as it gets.

I wasn't thinking about visas - I was just pointing out that your statement is not true in the general case. There are loads of potential complications e.g. local taxes/VAT, local legal requirements/regulations, etc

It depends a lot on what you are doing / what industry, etc

All of that would be dealt with by the local company. The business I work for deals with all the local requirements (in my case it’s banking regulations).

Whilst I agree there may be complications locally, it’s of no concern to the provider of the services.

I have no idea about your situation and I am no expert at this - all I am saying is in my experience there has been complications and seeking professional advice is prudent.
