How much to charge as a new freelance airport transfer guide?

I'll be greeting (mainly German-speaking) tour groups arriving at the airport, accompany them to the hotel and assist with check-in, or, less commonly, just Meet&Greet, i.e. call the driver once all passengers are there and make sure they're taken to their transfer.

The company I work for sends me the offers, but I'm the one to email them an invoice. The problem is thus: what do I charge?

According to one of the guides, for a newbie it's apparently £60-80 for a half-day tour including an airport transfer, and £110-130 for a full-day tour. They didn't mention how much it is for a full-day Meet&Greet.

Think about costs and quite a few variables: which airports or just one airport? How long and how much will it cost you to get there (public transport or do you need to leave your own transport near the airport)? How many meet and greets could you do in one day or will they just be Saturdays and Sundays, for example. Usually groups arrive on different flights during the day so you have to wait before you can get them on the coach together. Any problems such as missing luggage you will have to help with too. I haven't done this for many years but if it is a provincial airport with a transfer to just one or two hotels for check in then I think 50 pounds sounds ok. I would really try and find out how much other people doing the same job charge at your airport.

Glasgow and Edinburgh airports, as I'm homeless and shift my time between these two cities.
My first shift a few days ago was about 5 Meet&Greets for flights landing at Edinburgh between 12:00 and 17:15, and it was on a Monday. Separate transfers.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm accompanying a single large group from Edinburgh airport to the Mercure hotel in Livingston, also assisting with check-in

Said what did you get paid for those? Do you think it's not enough? Do you think you could get more? Only you can really answer your questions. I doubt there are many meeters and greeters on ukbf.

I would still say try to check with someone else doing meet and greet at the airport. It may also be that tariffs vary according to the number of passengers you have to meet for each transfer.

I suggest you start with a figure equal to the national minimum wage.

Multiply it by the number of hours you've worked (irrespective of what you've actually done).

Make an invoice accordingly and note that you've priced it based on X hours at £x per hour.

Thanks everyone; I set it to £90 for half-day (up to 4 hours) and £150 for full-day (up to 8 hours), and was paid no questions asked for one half-day and one full-day.
Now I have to think of what to charge for overtime and unsociable hours. I'm thinking £20/hour for overtime and a 50% increase for unsociable hours (after 9 or 10PM)

Why would I register as a charity?
Btw I'm not driving any vehicle, just accompanying people on coaches.
Also decided to increase it to £105 for half-day (incl. single transfers) and £175 for full-day. The company also recently told me their customers will pay max £120 for Meet&Greets, so we agreed on that.
Not sure how proportional £105 for half-day (incl. single transfers) is in relation to £120 for multi-flight Meet&Greets
