Hi All,

We sell many different products, from Groceries to Supplements to Beauty and Care Products, which forums/avenues would you recommend to clear stock in excess and bulk?

Thanks a lot.

Join as a Full member and you can post in the MarketPlace -

Thanks for your reply, appreciate this.

However, what is the response on this forum, seems like it does not have many active users as the marketplace does not seem to be having that many moving offers? Thoughts?

I am happy to sign up, if there is a good potential of selling clearance stuff.

Supplier Central I believe has joined forced with UKBF, but they have no recent posts either, so all a bit confusing on which one to pick.

    Thanks.

In my opinion a forum isn't really a place to expect to gain exposure from, unless you actively participate a little.

The people who tend to gain most are the people who take part, reply to a few posts and are active.

I expect people who join as a free member, make one or two self-promotional posts, and do little else, would get very little out of it.

Join as a paid member, add a signature so people know what they do, participate, add a few useful replies to posts, respond to posts asking about topics related to their industry (in a non self-promotional way) and they then get seen to as the go to person if anyone needs what they do.

You basically get out of it what you put in, plus a lot more, plus it's fun being a forum member (at times) :)

Thanks a lot for that info, really appreciate it.

The thing is, this forum does not seem to have a dedicated proper space to list offers etc. There is just a generic "Products & Retail" section, where as Supplier Central had multiple different areas and was geared towards that?

Have you got trial memberships or monthly ones?

    Thanks a lot.

I'm just a Mod here and don't know much about the business side of things.

The owner @Ozzy is away at the business show this week, try contacting him next week and he will give you more info about upcoming changes and trials.

I used to be a member on that old forum many years ago when I used too import a mobile phone equipment, I used to wholesale to the trade and retail through five of my own outlets, but never sold through that forum.

Hopefully things have changed, but back years ago it was not really full of true buyers, more people asking how to get free samples from abroad, tyre kickers in other words.

    Any update on this?
    Sorry I missed this.

The Marketplace area was setup specifically with Supplier Central in mind in case anyone coming over from there wanted a place to promote their goods, but as it happened a lot of people we met at last weeks show were also interested in a place to promote / self-promote.
It's not bust because the existing residents do not use the forum for marketing in such a way, either because it has never been allowed before or simply do not wish to. I don't know that answer and do not mind either way.

It's new, it may take off, or it may not, but it is the only place advertising is allowed. Personally I hope it does take off as I'd like to see business deals being done on here and people buying from each other. Chat is fine, but business transacting is what it's all about :)
