Hi guys,

I am new on the forum and just established a UK ltd company. I was just wondering if any UK companies on here have their own ****** assets like a utility token? I am thinking about raising funds for my video game development company through a utility token, the tokens can be used to purchase in-game products.

Utility tokens of this type are classed as unregulated by the FCA because they are not security tokens or selling shares. I am not sure even though the token is unregulated if I have to register for AML? The FCA documents are very confusing and when I started researching on google it conflicted with some people saying yes you need to register for AML and others saying no because the token is unregulated.

Hopefully I can find someone on the business forums who has created an unregulated fund raising token for a project themselves as they would probably know the answer to the question. I have emailed FCA but its been 7 days and not got a reply from them.

So far I have had abuse, spammers and no answers from the other forums I hope this forum is a serious and helpful one without attacking people asking a serious legitimate question.

I look forward to many discussions on here in near future :)

I’m a bit confused about this. Why ******? I support a number of game developers on kickstarter. Can’t you do the same?

Yes you are right, kickstarter or indiegogo is an option but I am working on a web3 based game. ****** token games are becoming very popular and attracts faster and greater investment into games. The metaverse style has exploded on to the gaming scene within the last year.

I understand as well ****** is a bit flat at the moment but will eventually recover and is my long term option for the game.

Hi what you appear to be offering is nothing more than a voucher which entitles the holder to buy a game or receive a discount. You're not offering a share of the profits or a regular income to the voucher holder.

A ****** asset is the same as any other asset like a house if it has any value - otherwise the so-called asset is not worth a brass farthing.

Actually that would be a good name for the next ****** currency.

See also below as it doesn't look like you are offering a regulated product:

If it is a good enough game, with the right marketing, then the token could do well even without any great utility, but it won't be easy. Adding a revenue sharing component and some way of making it deflationary (or a the very least non-inflationary) with a fair (no private sale) launch would make it a much more attractive buy.
