Copy Ebay listings to own website?

Hi all,

I've got 1200 listings live on Ebay, and as a backup would love to copy them in full to my own shop website (I already own a domain name).

I really don't want to create another 1200 listings on my shop when time would be better spent creating new ebay listings instead.

None of the shop website companies offer a supported option to do this.

I dabbled with Wordpress many years ago and it was a faff. Would really like a simple way of transferring all my hard work on Ebay to my own shop site!

Thanks

Thanks, but the report that is created is very basic, only containing the title, price etc.

No product description text is available unfortunately.

However, it may be worth me doing this on a daily basis so I at least know what I have, which is over 1300 items listed now.

Regards.

EBay don't really want you to export all data mainly because of people doing what you want to do: take custom away from their platform.

Do all 1200 products sell? You already have a marketing mountain to climb as running your own site is multiple times harder than selling on eBay. Maybe just focus on products that sell well and have a good markup. Then if your new site gains traction start adding more products.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm looking to provide as much as possible variation in my niche which is vintage products so it's not really a case of just focussing on just the higher sell through items as there's not really that many overall, or many competitors doing what I'm doing. It's a profitable niche though.

Main reason for wanting to get my own site is last year I received 2x generic emails from Ebay explaining the requirement to provide provenance for my items, which is a bit difficult on 50+ year old used items.

You can make your life a bit simpler. Most ecommerce platforms have an importer function. This means you can create the listings using a spreadsheet which creates the listings on the site.

It does need a bit of preparation but once you have all the attributes in place it's just a matter of copying from ebay and pasting into the spreadsheet.

I've recently helped someone do this for about 3000 products. Didn't take long as there was lots of repetition in some of the fields.

^ That's exactly what I would be after. If the description was a field on a spreadsheet that would be fine.

I tried with EKM Powershop iirc but the import function didn't work.

Please can I ask which shop you used and which import app as I haven't found a shop that actually has it's own import app/support for it?

Thanks.

I tend to use woo commerce because that what I’m used to. It’s not the best but I’m too old to learn how to use others.

This is the tool we used:

Have you considered using a channel manager?

Installing a channel manager plugin onto the site would allow you to setup synchronisation between your stock/prices/product descriptions.

It maybe that you don't want to use all the features of a channel manager on-going, but the initial sync will solve you problem of creating products on the website.

Something like this....there are lots of alternatives.

Thanks for your thoughts. I don't want to have anything that can physically affect any Ebay listings, just something that can copy them across with as simple a process as possible.

As others have said there are many channel managers like Channel Grabber, Channel Advisor, Linnworks, etc. and most connect to many shop platforms like OpenCart or Prestashop.

Would you like us to help you set up a shop? If so feel free to email [email protected]
